Best Things To Do

  • Stanley Park - Voted the best international park in the world, and larger than NYC's Central Park, Stanley Park has miles of trails, beautiful beaches, local wildlife, great eats, and historical landmarks.
  • Granville Island Public Market - An indoor market featuring a fascinating assortment of colorful food and produce stores, showcasing handcrafted products and the very finest in unique gifts. All fresh from the ocean, the oven or the field.
  • Gastown - Gastown is known for its whistling Steam Clock and mix of souvenir shops, indie art galleries and decor stores in Victorian buildings.
  • Lynn Canyon Suspension Bridge - Many will say to go to the Capilano Suspension Bridge, but it is quite expensive. Instead, go to Lynn Canyon for a free crossing and beautiful hike.
  • Lonsdale Quay Market - Waterfront marketplace with unique retailers, food vendors & cafes. Take the water taxi to get here for a fun water experience!
  • Robson Street - Robson Street is all about shopping. Visit shops like: Muji, Lululemon, Nike, Roots, Wilfred, Cos, and many more.
  • Richmond Night Market - The largest night market in North America featuring vendors with a diverse array of goods & food, plus entertainment. Open every weekend from May to October.

Best Places To Stay

  • Downtown Vancouver - You'll want to stay close to all of the great food, shops, and attractions, so downtown is the number one choice. All major hotels are located here. We stayed at the Hyatt with points and had a great time.
  • West End - The West End is very close to Stanley Park, beaches, and within walking distance to Robson Street for great shopping and eats.
  • Yaletown - Also in great proximity to downtown shops and restaurants, Yaletown is on the main train line and a great base for your daily adventures.
  • South Main - If you are looking to stay outside of the downtown area in a more residential area, perhaps in an AirBnb, then South Main is the spot. It has a great Main Street with lots of shops, restaurants, and coffee.

Getting Around

  • Public Transit - Vancouver has a vary fast, easy, clean, and efficient underground transit system. The main line you will be riding is the Canada Line. We took it all around, from the airport to downtown, public transit is the way to go.
  • Walking - Vancouver is a very flat and walkable city. We walked all over and when we were tired, we jumped on the Canada Line.
  • Uber
  • Lyft
